Opportunity Statement
Does the French American School of Puget Sound (FASPS) Vision ‘to inspire the next generation of global citizens to learn, understand and act wisely in a multicultural world’ speak to you? Are you (or someone you know) an expert in bilingual education for children 18-months to Grade 8? Do you thrive in multicultural communities and speak both French and English fluently? Do you yearn to be part of a learning community committed to melding the very best of both the French curriculum and pedagogies with those of the US? Are you ready to take on the challenge of continued student growth, the move to a new campus and the capital campaign required for funding? Are you looking to live and play in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, particularly in the Seattle/Bellevue area?
If so, we invite you to consider the opportunity to apply for the Head of School role at the French American School of Puget Sound. Founded in 1995, FASPS today enrolls over 430 students from more than 60 countries and is in itself a wonderful global learning community.
This is a compelling opportunity for an educator interested in shepherding the recognized leader in bilingual education in the Pacific Northwest. With an unwavering commitment to empowering students to thrive academically, socially and emotionally within a globally diverse and inclusive learning community, FASPS seeks an educational leader who understands what it takes for a community to deliver on these worthy ambitions. In addition, the next Head must bring deep knowledge of both the French and American educational systems, which FASPS harmonizes in its own unique way to create a coherent and effective learning journey. Guided by an ambitious strategic plan, the next Head will have the opportunity to open a new, purpose-built Upper Elementary / Middle School (grades 4 through 8) in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Seattle, and continue oversight of the Early Childhood-Grade 8 campus on Mercer Island and the Preschool on Capitol Hill (Seattle).
Applications for this search are due by 3 October 2025. The Information for Candidates with the Leadership Profile and compensation range will be available and posted to the EC and FASPS websites in early September. Finalist Interviews will take place in November with an appointment in the winter with a start date in summer 2026.
