Job Description
Educational Directions is excited to partner with York School in its search for a visionary and entrepreneurial next Head of School for July 2027. Located on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula in California, York is an award-winning, independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school serving grades 8-12. With an intentional enrollment of approximately 160 students, York is celebrated for its inclusive, diverse, and welcoming community built upon the foundational principles of honesty, respect, responsibility, and compassion. The school features a distinctive, academically challenging experiential program—including an extensive STEM program, a dedicated Service Learning Internship, and global initiatives like a 10th grade climate change program in Costa Rica. The next Head of School will have a historic opportunity to spearhead a campus master plan, achieve long-term fiscal sustainability, optimize enrollment, and galvanize a robust culture of philanthropy.
