Job Description
St. Michael’s is seeking a Head of School who will embrace the heart of its mission and the promise of its future. This is a call to lead a community rooted in faith, tradition, and academic innovation and excellence—a community where students are known, challenged, and inspired to grow in mind, body, and spirit. The next Head will be a visionary, a gifted leader and manager, a steward, a relationship builder, an innovator, and a person of character who leads with both strength and grace. Mission Driven Head of School. St. Michael's exists to educate students in mind, body, and spirit for lives of meaning and purpose. St. Michael’s has established a strong and clear mission, values, and vision, with a clear Episcopal Identity and a cohesive community. The next Head of School must embody and lead through this mission at every level.
Exceptional Communicator and Community Builder. St. Michael's thrives on strong, enduring relationships rooted in trust, mutual respect, and shared values. The next Head must be a visible, approachable leader who actively listens and communicates with warmth and transparency, and is fully present in the life of the school, engaging authentically with faculty, families, students, alumni, and Parish leadership.
An Academic Leader with a Commitment to Innovative Teaching and Learning. At St. Michael's, exceptional teaching is the cornerstone of student success. Its faculty is deeply dedicated to the intellectual and personal growth of each child. The next head must actively support and elevate the work of teachers as professionals, mentors, and leaders.
Strategic Thinker with Managerial Savvy. St. Michael's is a school with deep roots and bold aspirations. The next Head must guide both day-to-day excellence and long-term growth, including stewardship of its historic campus, continued enrollment strength, and faculty/administrative support. In 2021, the school adopted and implemented a comprehensive strategic plan. The next Head of School, in collaboration with
the Board, will have the opportunity to develop the plan, identifying new goals and initiatives that will further establish St. Michael’s as a leader in the Tucson educational market.
Financial Leader who will Continue to Ensure St. Michael’s Sustainability. The continued vitality of St. Michael's depends on strong financial leadership. The next Head must possess strong and keen financial acumen and be able to steward the school's resources responsibly; identify additional sources of revenue; and inspire philanthropy in order to support faculty, expand access, and sustain the historic campus for future generations.

- Fundraising and growing the Endowment to secure financial sustainability and enhance resources.
