Job Description
Sandia Preparatory School seeks a dynamic, relational, and results-driven Director of Strategic Enrollment Management to lead the school’s recruitment, admission, tuition assistance, and retention strategy. This senior leadership role is responsible for achieving enrollment and net tuition revenue goals through thoughtful planning, data-informed decision-making, and compelling engagement with prospective and current families.
The Director of Strategic Enrollment Management leads the Admission Department and serves as a member of the School’s Senior Leadership Team, partnering closely with academic, advancement, finance, and marketing colleagues to advance the school’s mission and long-term sustainability.
Responsibilities & Duties
Strategic Leadership and Enrollment Management
- Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year enrollment strategy focused on recruitment, yield, retention, and net tuition revenue.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-functioning Admission Team, fostering a collaborative, welcoming, and mission-aligned culture.
- Design and implement enrollment practices that advance access, equity, and belonging, ensuring the admission process is inclusive, transparent, and aligned with the school’s commitment to inclusion.
- Partner with the CFO to establish enrollment forecasts, tuition revenue projections, and financial aid strategies aligned with institutional goals.
- Analyze enrollment data, market trends, and demographic information to inform strategy, assess effectiveness, and adjust tactics as needed.
- Serve as a key member of tuition assistance committee, contributing to policy development, budget planning, and application review.
Recruitment & Admissions Operations
- Lead and manage the admission process from inquiry through enrollment, ensuring a seamless, personalized, and mission-aligned experience for families.
- Oversee outreach efforts, including feeder school visits, admission fairs, community events, and on-campus programs.
- Conduct interviews, oversee admission testing, manage decision communication, and support onboarding and transition of new students.
- Recruit, train, and supervise parent, student, and faculty volunteers for campus tours and admission events.
- Maintain an active, visible presence in the life of the school, engaging with families, faculty, and students to remain closely connected to the school program.
Marketing, Communication, & Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing and Communications Department to develop and implement strategic enrollment marketing initiatives that strengthen the school’s visibility and value proposition.
- Work in partnership with division heads, faculty, student support services, athletics, alumni and development, and academic departments to align enrollment efforts with institutional priorities.
- Serve as ambassador for the school, articulating its mission, program strengths, and community values to a wide range of audiences.
Systems & Data Management
- Effectively utilize the school’s database to manage prospective family relationships, applications, records, and reporting.
- Produce customized reports and dashboards to track progress toward enrollment goals and inform leadership decision-making.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in admission, enrollment management, sales, or related leadership roles, preferably in independent schools.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing recruitment strategies that achieve enrollment and revenue goals.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable plans.
- Deep understanding of current enrollment, admission, and marketing trends and best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with a relational and student-centered approach.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive community working effectively with families, faculty, and staff of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to a changing enrollment landscape, and thrive in a competitive market.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends when needed.
- A visible champion of the school’s mission and values.
