Position Summary
The Assistant Head of School will work closely with the Head of School to provide leadership and strategic oversight of academic and co-curricular programming. This role will collaborate with academic leaders and delegate effectively to address both urgent matters pertaining to the successful delivery of the School’s mission and strategic initiatives that require a longer-term focus. This role will ensure all teachers and academic leaders maintain a student-centered focus and deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Extensive leadership experience in independent schools
- Experience developing innovative academic and co-curricular programs
- Demonstrated success leading and mentoring adults
- Excellent organizational skills
- Clear written and oral communication skills
- Collegiality and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues
- Strong work ethic and experience with diverse cultural populations
- Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive work environment
- Possesses problem-solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the school
- Commitment to a growth mindset and continuous professional development
- Residential life experience preferred
