Director

Play Mountain Place, in Los Angeles (on the border of Culver City), California, is seeking a Director to begin July 2027. Play Mountain Place serves 80 students ages 2 ½ through 11. It offers a unique humanistic, play-based program. Parents and teachers take parenting workshops that train them in communication skills, problem-solving, and understanding child development. Recently celebrating 75 years, the school boasts an experienced staff, dedicated Board of Trustees, and a deeply rooted alumni community. The Director will supervise a small administrative staff and oversee the administration of program and teaching staff with the Program and Admissions Director. They will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of operations with an emphasis on managing administrative practices, guiding finance and fundraising, and connecting with our internal and external communities.

 A dynamic leadership style, strong communication skills, an understanding of humanistic education and early childhood, and experience in administration and supervision are required. Compensation is in line with small schools, within the range of $95-120,000, based on experience, education, and proven competency. A benefits package is included.
