Head of School

The American International School of Chennai (AISC) invites applications for its next Head of School. Nestled on a purpose-built 13-acre campus in Taramani, Chennai, India. AISC is a warm, values-driven community of approximately 760 students from more than 30 nationalities. The diverse school pairs a student-centered American curriculum with IB and AP options, strong experiential programs, and distinctive facilities (an Apple Distinguished School with LEED-certified grounds, maker spaces, a music recording studio, and more).
 
AISC seeks a relational, visible and strategic leader to guide the organization as it enters its next chapter, sharpen the school’s definition of excellence, elevate instructional leadership, and steward a culture where rigor and wellbeing coexist. The next Head will also strengthen operational systems, enhance the development of a high-performing senior team, and partner closely with a committed Board to establish clear strategic direction and priorities. Candidates must demonstrate cultural competence, authenticity, and a genuine enthusiasm for living and leading in Chennai. Per the school’s bylaws, the Head must be a U.S. citizen.
